Acupuncture:
Dr David Lunn and Dr David Lester are members of the Australian Medical Acupuncture Society and treat many painful conditions, especially headaches, sinusitis, arthiritis, backache and PMT etc. Treatment is through the use of modern laser, Cordetron therapy and acupuncture needles.
Asthma:
Asthma is an increasingly more common condition with up to one in four children being affected. Any patient noticing a worsening of their asthma should consider a consultation to re-examine their asthma management.
Blood Pressure:
High blood pressure can, in the long term, increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Reducing blood pressue can reduce these risks. All adults are advised to have their blood pressure checked at least every two years. If you have not had yours checked recently, please ask the doctor.
Cholesterol:
High blood cholersterol level is another important risk factor in the development of heart attacks and strokes. It is possible to be apparently fit, slim and on a low fat diet and still have high blood cholesterol. It is completely asymptomatic and can only be detected by blood test. This can be organised at the surgery. Cholesterol levels can be reduced by diet and/or medication, and it has been calculated that each 1% lowering of cholesterol level leads to a 2% lowering of heart attack risk. Please check about fasting requirements for these tests.
Diabetes:
Patients wishing to monitor their diabetes, or patients concerned they may have developed diabetes can have a simple blood sugar test arranged by the doctor

Dr Michaelson sees patients on a regular basis for poiate, alochol and nicotine dependence. He has many patients on Methadone and Buprenorphine.
